On Thursday, August 15, 1968, The Who played the last of their three-night Fillmore West stand — the closing bracket of the opening leg of BG-133, again over the James Cotton Blues Band and Magic Sam (per billgrahamfoundation and thewho.com). A year later to the day, the world's attention was three thousand miles east, on a dairy farm in New York; but in San Francisco the ballroom did not pause. See the Woodstock entry below for August 15, 1969 — and note that on that same 1969 Friday, Chuck Berry's BG-187 week was still running at this very room.
