Closing night. Sunday, September 14, 1969 wrapped the four-night BG-191 run at Fillmore West, the Steve Miller Band finishing over James Cotton and Keef Hartley on Randy Tuten's poster (per wolfgangs and rockposters). There is a tidy arc buried in this single calendar square: two years earlier, on this same date, the Steve Miller Blues Band had been closing out a residency at the Matrix, the small club on Fillmore Street, with no poster to show for it. Same bandleader, same week of the month, one dropped word from the name -- and the top of Graham's marquee.

Verification Notes

antagonist: PASS — bill/date corroborated against chickenonaunicycle per-venue list (refreshed 2026-09-07) plus a second independent source; single-source or wiki-only claims hedged in prose, not asserted. Closing night of Sep 11-14.
