Devil's Kitchen and Orion at the Family Dog on the Great Highway, Tuesday, September 16, 1969, with the film "In Search of America" running as part of the bill -- the Great Highway hall mixing cinema into a music night the way it mixed in lectures and themed evenings. Devil's Kitchen were a Carbondale, Illinois band who had come west and became something of a Family Dog house act in this period. Jellyroll Press is credited on the listing. As with the rest of these Great Highway dates, the FD-690916 code attached to it is a date-stamp rather than a true catalog number, and no printed poster survives -- the credit to a press is for the handbill work, not evidence of a numbered sheet.

Verification Notes

antagonist: PASS — bill/date corroborated against chickenonaunicycle per-venue list (refreshed 2026-09-07) plus a second independent source; single-source or wiki-only claims hedged in prose, not asserted. Film/light show "In Search of America" on the bill. Filed under a date-stamp code (FD-690916), NOT a true catalog number; Jellyroll Press credited.
