Verification Notes

ANTAGONIST-CHECKED. 1967-08-10=Thursday; OPENING of Moby Grape / Canned Heat / Vanilla Fudge at the Avalon, Aug 10-13, Victor Moscoso's FD-75 'Three Bares' (MFA Boston 474042 + FAMSF; Smithsonian catalogs the title as 'Three Little Bares'). This is Moby Grape's Avalon stand, overlapping its BG-77 Fillmore billing on Aug 10 (unresolved two-venue conflict per Corry Arnold). MAD RIVER (antagonist-corrected): per Corry Arnold, Mad River substituted for Moby Grape at the last second on ONE night, PROBABLY Sat Aug 12 (not Aug 11), apparently because Skip Spence was incapacitated -- NO mention of 'amps'; Arnold himself is unsure. Single-source, hedged. The garbled 'sat in on Moby Grape's amps Aug 11' version is NOT asserted. Secondary.
